Abigail and Hyperion uncork a murder…
Tea and Tarot room owner Abigail Beanblossom is used to running interference for her socially-awkward former boss, tech billionaire Razzzor. So when he invites her on a stakeout to investigate the sale of counterfeit wine from his latest venture – an upscale winery – she barrels on in. But the two stumble across the corpse of a wine merchant, and new wine in old bottles is now the least of their problems.
Good thing amateur detectives Abigail and her partner, tarot reader Hyperion Night, have a nose for murder. Their investigation takes them from elegant wine cellars to chic tea parties on the California coast. But just as the investigation starts to get its legs, Abigail discovers there’s more than wine at the bottom of this crime…
Hostage to Fortune is book 2 in the Tea and Tarot cozy mystery series. Start reading this hilariously cozy caper today!

Recipe: Hawthorn and Elderberry Tea

Many of our guests at Beanblossom’s Tea and Tarot have asked about our Hawthorn-Elderberry tea. You can buy it in our tearoom, but if you’d like to make it yourself, we’re happy to share the recipe for this tart herbal tea. It’s not only bursting with immune-boosting antioxidant goodness, it also tastes delicious. And it’s super easy to prepare:
Ingredients:
  • 1 part dried hawthorn berries (not powdered)
  • 1 part dried elderberries (not powdered)
  • 1 part dried rosehips (not powdered)
Note: When mixing teas, measurements are typically given as “parts.” A “part” could be a teaspoon, a cup, a bucket… whatever! As long as you keep the measurements proportional, it all works.
Directions: Boil water. Pour into cup. Steep 1 tsp. for 8-10 minutes.
This fruity and refreshing drink is excellent with honey and makes a great summer iced tea as well.
Don’t believe me? Be sure to stop by our tearoom and try a cup, a Tarot reading, and our new mini lemon bundt cakes! Introductory Tarot readings are 20% off.
